This year’s theme for London Writers’ Week is to provide access to and showcase the best new ideas going on in terms of writing for and using Digital Media in the UK. With the growth of Netflix, Amazon, BBC Three going online and theatre productions use of digital media, we hope the week provides an insight into and advice on some of the best new ideas in the UK.
Just announced: This year’s London Writers’ Week is also a benefit for victims of the Grenfell Tower fire, with 100% of profits from the week going to help victims, supported by The Tabernacle, Notting’s Hill theatre and arts centre at the heart of the community – previous events at The Tabernacle include events with Adele, Lily Allen and others. If you are not able to attend the week in person, you can purchase a Donation ticket and receive email highlights from the week.

Dan Berlinka is a BAFTA-winning writer, director and producer. Recent credits include THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO (ITV), THE SPARTICLE MYSTERY series 3 (Sparticle Productions/CBBC), SHAUN THE SHEEP (Aardman/CBBC), and HOLLYOAKS (Lime/C4), as well as being the head writer, producer and director of the BAFTA-winning online drama DIXI (Kindle/CBBC). Following Dixi, Dan is continuing to develop a number of immersive online dramas.
Dan studied English at Cambridge and Cinema at New York University. While living in the US he began working in television as a producer for the World Wrestling Federation. On returning to the UK he joined Sky as a writer/producer before moving to Disney as a development producer. He went on to form dandy productions (with Andrew Williams), winning a Bafta for Best Animated Children’s Series for their series Brush-Head. Since then Dan has been a full time freelance writer, director and producer, recently winning a second Bafta for Best Children’s Interactive Original for Dixi.
